BROWNFIELD

AGQ collaborated on a 3R2N project at Carnegie Mellon. The intent of the 3R2N was to describe conditions of riverbank geology, accessibility along the Monongahela, Youghiogheny, and Allegheny Rivers in Allegheny County Pennsylvania. These rivers served mostly industrial uses. The data collected included berm slopes, heights, material types, and grain sizes, accessibility, floodplain identification. The data was collected along the banks in 1/10th mile sections. The data was referenced in the field using a Global Positioning System receiver. The data was later analyzed using GIS and ARCINFO technology.
